TOP # 1 IP Vanish

IP Vanish

IP Vanish is one of the top best VPN services available !

IP Vanish

IPVanish has definitely stepped up its game since our last review. Not only has it improved speeds and accessibility, but also implemented a true zero logs policy, which has made its security that extra step better.

Pricing & Plans

Like nearly every other VPN provider, IPVanish has one set plan, with increasing discounts the longer you sign up for. Its prices are on the higher end of average, but you definitely get your money’s worth. It also provides a seven-day money-back guarantee, which provides ample time to test its service.

For a limited time, you can also receive 20% off using the WAIT code. It supports a variety of payment methods, ranging from the widely accepted PayPal/credit card to the highly secure and safe Bitcoin.

Features

Unsurprisingly, IPVanish is one of the top VPN providers available. It has a Tier 1 network of VPNs with servers in a whopping 59 countries, and major countries such as the UK and US have multiple servers to help deliver some of the best speeds in the business. It’s also one of only a few VPNs to provide VPNs in more exotic countries around the planet, such as Egypt and Panama.

Alongside this, it has a great team who provide top-end security and excellent customer support should you ever need it. It’s also implemented a full zero logs policy – not even connection logs – which is superb.

While simultaneous connections are allowed, this is slightly limited. In its words: “You can install our software on an unlimited number of computers or mobile devices and use 1 OpenVPN connection and 1 other protocol (L2TP or PPTP) connection at the same time.”

Security & Privacy

Most importantly, as stated, IPVanish now runs a full zero logs policy. Unlike with a number of companies, if you’re paying with Bitcoin, all that’s required for signing up is an email address and a password – the former of which could be anonymous. This mean that right off the bat you’re able to protect yourself to a great level. Of course, it’s still possible to sign up in the normal fashion and IPVanish will keep this data secure.

It provides PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN connection types with 128-, 256- and 256-bit respectively. Alongside this, it has a very see-through Privacy Policy, DMCA and Terms of Service outline. To help increase your privacy, it uses shared IPs and, due to the information it logs – or shall we say not log – it’s physically unable to identify any culprits, even if requested to do so.

As stated, it keeps absolutely zero logs. We previously had an issue with its logging policies, as it sent us a cease and desist for torrenting, which countered both its P2P allowed and no logs policy. We tested this by torrenting an excessive sum, amongst other file-storing methods, and so far haven’t received anything, nor have we noticed an unreasonable difference in performance.

The website

IPVanish has an impressive, detailed website, with clear and easy-to-find information. The personal Control Panel is also well laid out and easy to navigate, with all the important information displayed, alongside a useful server information list.

Support

Surprisingly, and slightly disappointingly, IPVanish doesn’t have 24/7 live support. It’s live support is available during working hours (EST). On the upside, it has a great support FAQ (with some of the best setup guides that we’ve seen) and an excellent Ticket Support system to supplement this. We found all its support team to be helpful and knowledgeable, and they were able to answer all of our requests with relative ease, though sometimes we had to press a little to get all of the information that we required. Its support forums are also very helpful and contain useful information and comment, both by users and employees alike.

The Process

Signing Up

As already mentioned, signing up is a straightforward process, as it is with most providers, and if you’re using Bitcoin you’ll only need to provide your email address and a password.

The Windows VPN client

The new IPVanish 2.0 client is a clear improvement on the previous version and while it doesn’t provide as many different settings as a few other providers out there, it does have some nice features. You can easily choose your connection and location type, the latter of which you can choose through different methods: speed, location, map view, and so on. You’re also able to change your IP periodically, as well as launch on start-up. There’s even an account and support tab. but unfortunately, this is just ported from the website. As with all other software, you can also control your connection from the taskbar.

Performance (Speed, DNS and IP Test)

We gave IPVanish our usual tests. We found no DNS leaks and the IP tests all came back clear. We also gave its L2TP and OpenVPN connections a test, and the results, as expected, were excellent.

Other Platforms

Refreshingly, IPVanish supports all major devices and operating systems. We decided to test the Android app to see how it would fair against the results we obtained through our computer. Don’t be surprised that Mudhook Marketing Inc has developed the app, as this is the parent company of IPVanish. By default, the Android app provides you with an OpenVPN connection, while the iOS app allows you to use PPTP and L2TP. Manual configuration for the other protocols is also provided, if you so wish.

We found the app to be basic but adequate, and the speeds achieved were on par with those we obtained through using the computer. If you have a lot of devices in your household using a VPN then it recommends purchasing a Sabai OS Router or DD-WRT/Tomato FlashedRouter.

Conclusion

We liked
We weren’t so sure about
We hated
Overall, IPVanish has definitely improved its service since our last review. It proves repeatedly that it’s one of the best providers in the business. We highly recommend its service.
